Is this curriculum enough?

Is this curriculum enough? Will my child get into college? Will my child be successful? What if they don’t learn enough. What if I fail my child? What if they don’t know what their passions are? What if, what if?

As a homeschool mom, I understand all of the what if's. But what if your child learns more this way? What if your child loves learning and continues on that path for the rest of their life because it was a positive experience? What if your relationship improves because your child enjoys this type of learning?

I am here to tell you, you are enough, you can homeschool your kids, they are smart, capable and ready to learn in a fun way!

Push all of your doubts aside and give your homeschool a fresh new start. Did you know you can change the curriculum any time you want if it is not working for your family. Don’t hesitate to make changes in your homeschool as needed. It is our responsibility as parents to give our kids the tools they need to be successful but they have to dive in and learn.

My oldest has always loved history. He loved video games that included historical facts, fun books on historical things, TV shows and movies with a fun historical twist. He also enjoys money, nature and helping people. As a homeschooler, we facilitated opportunities for him, gave him the tools to dive deeper into his passions and encouraged him all along the way. At the age of 12 he started background acting and checked that off of his list of goals. Shortly after, he decided he wanted to continue making money as an entrepreneur. At the age of 13 he began a lawncare business. He was able to transfer that business from one coast to the other and continued working through his teen years as a successful business owner. He hired his brothers and taught them how to be responsible, hard workers. He began to invest his money in stocks and precious metals at age 16. During that time he volunteered his time and money at a local wildlife rescue. He donated children's books to underprivileged children with funds he made through his business. He continued volunteering his time at an animal shelter through his senior year. At 18 he graduated highschool with honors and is attending a local college as a history major. During his homeschool journey, we didn't focus on test scores, or unnecessary topics. Sometimes i worried that i was not a good enough homeschool mom. We did not focus on math, research papers etc.. we just gave our oldest son every opportunity to explore his passions and interests in a FUN way! Homeschooling gave him so many opportunities to learn, grow and be an individual. He has become a successful member of society through his passions and interests. Homeschooling is an incredible opportunity, especially through the teen years! Please know that the success of your child is not dependant on test scores, writing papers, and text books. Their success is dependent on the joy that learning brings, the warmth of a loving home and learning how to research and dive down rabbit holes!

I wish you blessings in your homeschool, relationships and learning journey.
